MS Teams by Microsoft for videoconferencing
Microsoft Teams is a collaborative platform designed to include document sharing, integration with other Microsoft products, chat capabilities, including text-based chat, video conferencing, and a voice-only chat option. Similar to Slack, Webex, and Zoom, virtual magicians use Microsoft Teams acts as a communication and project-planning collaboration hub. This is Microsoft’s vision of what an open office space looks like in 100% digital form.
While Microsoft Teams was released in 2017, after Slack – this has not put a damper on its momentum or its popularity. Here’s the good news: if you have purchased the Microsoft 365 Suite subscription – this product is already installed by default, it’s free to use for those folks. Teams is available in 93 languages enabling collaboration for companies and individuals on an even wider scale.
Even prior to the pandemic, this teleconference collaboration and communication tool built by Microsoft – was already rapidly gaining momentum and popularity as a teleconferencing and telecommunications tool for small and large businesses . When the virus began forcing businesses to find virtual work-from-home solutions – this Suite 365 product surpassed its predecessor, Slack as the new video chat/collaboration platform tool. According to Microsoft senior research analyst, Raul Castanon at S&P Global – Microsoft has quickly become the star product of the 365 Suite thanan add-on option.

Microsoft Teams addressed a need that many of us didn’t even know existed by integrating a multi-function chat platform with the other powerful 365 Suite tools to fill the gaps. Many of us, were already using Microsoft Suite 365 products such as, Microsoft Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote this integration across all products is remarkably seamless and user-friendly. Via Onedrive, people can share spreadsheets and other documents without ever leaving the Teams hub.

The Teams chat function boasts dynamic and interactive features . Pre-loaded with a vast array of GIFs, dev center, and collaborative group chat rooms, referred to as, channels (or conversations). Microsoft Teams allows users to create multiple chat rooms for projects or teams . Individuals can hop from text chats to video or voice chats inone click.
Video meetings and virtual workshops can be recorded and transcribed through Teams, as well. Another great hololens feature available through Team video chats is that a meeting can manage cookies and be translated within the platform and automatic AI closed captioning is available for the hearing impaired. During video chats – text-based chat is enabled, as well as, file sharing gift cards for maximum efficiency and productivity.
Skype for Business was formerly the leading text, phone, and video chat option for businesses . On July 31st, 2021 – Skype will end its screen sharing and its service altogether for active users. Microsoft anticipated the need to make the as smooth as possible for Skype users migrating over to the Microsoft Teams platform.
As a result, this Microsoft product was intuitively designed to allow Microsoft’s users to interoperate through both Skype and Teams for the nearing switch from Skype to Microsoft Teams.
Documents spreadsheets, there are many reasons to choose the Microsoft Office 365 Suite, (with Teams included to schedule meetings) for all your remote or in-office business needs. Unlike with other video conferencing or communication products like Zoom, Google Meet, and Slack—the Microsoft app integration with Microsoft Teams cannot be matched.
