Episode 8 – A Bellyful of Needles
Magician Lee Hathaway performs a card trick using a gimmick he calls a “Stomach entering device”. Magician Jack Taperell, a 14-year-old kid, performs a mind-reading card trick on Penn and Teller. Laura London, a red-headed magician, does a trick using a pound of Ross’ money. Magician Martin Daniels does a classic levitation and switching routine set to the classic song “Phantom of the Opera Is here”, for Penn, Teller, the audience, and his father. Penn and Teller end the show with a trick involving Penn and a card trick while Teller is submerged in a case of water, holding his breath for over five minutes.

Magicians looking to fool the boys this time: Shawn Farquhar returns to try and fool them again by (mind) reading from a book he gives to Alyson, comedian magician Michael Kent does a trick with (dis)appearing bottles and glass cups, Vegas magician Nathan Burton makes a “security guard” run down a toilet and turns his wife into a poster, Nathan Coe Marsh makes an object randomly picked by Alyson appear inside a small glass jar, and finally Penn and Teller teach the audience how to find love through cards, but not everyone gets it.

Magicians looking to fool them this time: sword swallowing magician Brett Loudermilk does a trick that’s hard to swallow for Alyson, Dan Harlan does a card-guessing trick with his animated stickmen, illusionist Ryan Joyce makes his assistant disappear leaving her silhouette behind, comedian magician Kyle Eschen makes lentil appear out of thin air, and finally Penn, Teller, and Jesse Eisenberg, who promotes his new movie about magic, try to outdo one another at a card-guessing trick for Alyson.

Magicians looking to fool them this time: Robert Ramirez gives Alyson a puppy and does a prediction trick while playing tic-tac-toe with Teller, Dominik Krzanowski risks losing his hands along with Penn’s watch during a Houdini-esque escape trick, comedian magician Joel Ward plays some tennis with Alyson and makes her ring disappear, Mahdi Gilbert, who had to learn how to do card tricks without using hands, does his own special hands-off trick with the three hosts, and finally Penn and Teller show us how a trick where Teller plays a disembodied rocket man works.

Magicians looking to fool them this time: edgy illusionist Elliot Zimet boxes up a girl, Paul Gertner blows everyone’s mind by making his cards talk, comedian and mentalist Matthew Disero guesses the colors of four audience members’ underwear, Lithuanian magician Rokas Bernatonis charms Alyson while doing an X-Ray card-guessing trick with her, and finally Penn and Teller do a gory snakelicious trick which was responsible for the most complaints NBC had ever received from viewers when they did it 30 years before on Tony Danza/Laurie Anderson (1986).

Magicians looking to fool them this time: Russian-born Vitaly Beckman does a card-guessing trick by showing Alyson his photo album, Simon Coronel does a trick using poker chips, Mac King returns hungry as ever with a fish trick which disgusts Alyson, Kevin Viner does a mentalist trick with a random audience member and a plastic wall clock, and finally Penn juggles dangerously by playing with broken liquor bottles.

Magicians looking to fool them this time: teen magician Matthew Laslo does a card trick with a t-shirt cannon, comedian Rob Zabrecky performs a creepy mentalist trick with four audience members, David Garrard shows us how the girl in the box trick is done with the help of a special guest dear to Penn’s heart, mentalist Wayne Hoffman has fun with the boys and makes a membership card for an audience member, and finally Tellercan’t shut up with his salute to recycling which costs him a bunny.

Magicians looking to fool them this time: Xavier Mortimer returns to skip rope midair, Fielding West pretend-plays rough with his bird friend, Caleb Wiles instructs Alyson on how to do a fooler’s card trick for the boys, Ken Hall (aka the Magic Maniac) entertains with magical anagrams of the boys’ names, and finally, in honor of Houdini, Penn and Teller and their escape artist friends, the Pilobolus dance troupe, their inner sadomasochists.
