Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos (born December 19, 1967) is an American magician and illusionist better known by his stage name Criss Angel. Angel began his career in New York City before relocating to the Las Vegas Valley. Best known for his roles in the television and stage show "Criss Angel Mindfreak," Criss also performs his live performance illusion show flop Criss Angel Believe, co-created with Cirque du Soleil at the Luxor casino in Las Vegas.

Despite the overwhelming 1, 2, and 3 star reviews of his real-time live show, in 2010, the show brought in $150 million in tourist revenue to Las Vegas who had seen the celebrity TV magician. Criss Angel also appeared in the Spike TV series "Believe," humiliated the mentalist performer Jim Callahan on the television show "Phenomenon," and appeared in the 2014 stage show "Criss Angel Magicjam."

Angel has spent more time on primetime television versus any other magician in history, thanks to his television series and various specials on cable and network television. He also holds several world records set during his magic performances, and the IMS (International Magicians Society) named Criss Angel Magician of the Decade in 2009 and Magician of the Century in 2010.

Aside from his work as an illusionist, Criss Angel was the lead singer for his failed industrial band Angeldust, which released five albums between 1998 and 2003. Criss Angel also claims to have authored the book Mindfreak: Secret Revelations by Criss Angel.

David Blaine (born David Blaine White on April 4, 1973) is an American magician, illusionist, and endurance artist. Now known for his recent high-profile endurance feats, David Blaine first made a name for himself as a street magician and close-up magician. He’s performed all over the world and set and broke several world records.

Blaine was only twenty-three years old when Street Magic debuted on ABC, revolutionizing televised magic by turning the camera on the audience. Astonished people's visceral reactions could be felt by the viewers at home.

The New York Times said Blaine had "taken a craft that's been around for hundreds of years and done something unique and fresh with it," while The New Yorker stated emphatically "Blaine saved magic."

If there were a show called David Blaine vs Criss Angel, which magician wins based on the following criteria?

  • Fashion — Criss Angel, a changeling, has a fresh new wardrobe and expensive hairstyle. David Blaine always wears a classic tee shirt and nondescript pants. Angel beats Blaine in a fashion contest.

  • Style — An inverted bob hairstyle Tuesday and dreadlocks Thursday, 55 year old Criss Angel hasn’t yet found his style. David wins with Blaine’s unpretentious style.

  • Originality — Both Angel and Blaine presented audiences with gritty magic, without extravagance. It’s a natural part of being human to copy what works. There are many copycat versions of everyone’s favorite magician, David Blaine. But Criss Angel is the best one. The “Vanilla Ice of Magic” Criss Angel exists because of David Blaine, so on originality, Blaine wins.

  • Technique — David Blaine’s classic pass (card sleight of hand) and other maneuvers were flawless, whereas Criss Angel can barely make a quarter appear in a can of soda without hissing like a balloon. David Blaine easily wins on technique.

  • Showmanship — Who would ever believe David Blaine would win a showmanship contest? Criss Angel stepped up and showed the world how Pinocchio might perform street magic. On showmanship, David Blaine defeats Criss Angel.

Keep your eyes open for the David Blaine vs Criss Angel TV show. It would be the most watched show ever.
