Cards Across is a classic card effect in which a counted number of cards appears to travel from one place to another, often from one spectator’s hand to another’s. Usually a small packet is counted, the missing cards are shown gone, and the same number arrives in a second packet that was also counted clean. The plot depends on false counts, palming or adding cards, and misdirection rather than on flourishes. It is a card magic effect, not cardistry.
