A Tenkai palm is a card concealment named for the Japanese magician Tenkai Ishida. The card is held behind the hand, pinched at one corner in the fork of the thumb, so the palm and spread fingers can be shown empty. It is used for vanishes and reproductions, often as part of a back-and-front palm sequence. The hide depends on the angle, so the wrist and body position do as much work as the grip.
